Spring/Summer 2018 Driver's Education: Classroom

Bloomington Community Education partners with A+ Driving School to offer two Driver's Education programs.

Option One:

Classroom Instruction and Behind the Wheel package
Cost is $395
A $70 deposit is paid to Bloomington Community Education when registering for the class.

The additional $325 is paid directly to A+ Driving School.  A+ Driving School has several payment plan options.

Students may register if they are 14 1/2 years of age.  Registration can be done online, by phone (952-681-6111), by mail, or in person by printing and filling out the Spring-Summer 2018 Driver's Ed Class Schedule

To register in person, bring the filled out form, and $70 to 2575 W. 88th Street, Suite 200, Bloomington.  Park on the north side of the building and enter through the doors with our address above them.

To pass the classroom portion, students must attend all 30 hours of classroom instruction. A reminder email will be sent prior to the start of class. Transportation to classroom instruction is the responsibility of the participant. Refund Policy: Cancellations received 3 or more business days prior to the start of class will receive a refund, less a $10 processing fee. Cancellations made less than 3 business days prior to the start of class will not receive a refund.

Once the classroom portion of the class is complete, students will receive their Blue Card from A+ Driving School in order to test for the permit.  The permit test is given at DMV Exam Stations, not at the license renewal offices.

After receiving the Driver's Permit, students begin practicing with a parent and must keep track of practice hours on a driving log.  At this time, students can also schedule their Behind the Wheel training.

The remainder of the class fee ($325) is paid directly to A+ Driving School at the time the student takes Behind the Wheel training. You need to schedule Behind the Wheel lesson #1 within 2-3 months of receiving the permit.  Online scheduling is offered 24/7 at www.aplusdrivingschool.net.

Community Education receives registration fees only.  The remainder of the class fee is paid directly to A+ Driving School.  A+ Driving School has several payment plan options available.

Option two:

Driver's Education: Behind-the-Wheel
Cost is $295.
A $35 deposit is paid to Bloomington Community Education when registering for the class.

The additional $260 is paid directly to A+ Driving School.  A+ Driving School has several payment plan options.

After completion of the high school classroom instruction classes, the student will receive a letter of completion and information about registering for the 6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel training with A+ Driving School.

Students will need to register in person at the Community Education office in order to receive their Blue Card to test for the Driver's Permit.
The office is located at 2575 W. 88th Street, Suite 200, Bloomington. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm.  Park in the north parking lot and enter through the doors with the address above them.

Students must bring their Letter of Completion, along with the registration form they received in class (currently the form is on the backside of the Letter of Completion.)  The form must be signed by a parent prior to registering for Behind the Wheel training.  Once students pay the $35 deposit and turn in the Letter of Completion and registration form, students will receive their Blue Card and then they can test for the permit at a DMV Exam Station.

After receiving the Driver's Permit, students begin practicing with a parent, and must keep track of practice hours on a driving log.  At this time, students can also schedule their Behind the Wheel training.
